Japanese fourth seed Naomi Osaka reached another US Open final after producing an exceptional performance to edge past American Jennifer Brady.
Osaka, who won the 2018 title, edged a captivate first set with a commanding tie-break before Brady magnificently rallied to force a deciding set.
Both preserved a high level at the start of the third before Osaka took control to win 7-6 (7-1) 3-6 6-3.
Osaka, 22, will play Victoria Azarenka in Saturday’s final.
Former world number one Azarenka beat 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in Thursday’s second semi-final at Flushing Meadows in New York.
