For a team that doesn’t always get the same attention as the Dodgers, Yankees or Braves, the Milwaukee Brewers are making it pretty hard to ignore them now.
Milwaukee entered August 11 with a 74–45 record, the best mark in Major League Baseball, sitting comfortably on top of the NL Central.
And no, this isn’t just a hot start.
The Brewers have been one of the most consistent teams in baseball all season. They’re getting production throughout the lineup, getting strong work from their pitching staff and, most importantly, finding ways to win games.
Their record is even more impressive when you look at the bigger picture. Milwaukee has scored 587 runs while allowing just 447, giving them a +140 run differential heading into Tuesday’s action.
That’s the kind of number that usually tells you a team’s record isn’t a fluke.
But here’s the problem…
The Brewers still don’t get talked about like a true World Series favorite.
Mention the National League and the conversation quickly turns to the Dodgers, Braves, Phillies and other big-name teams. Milwaukee seems to sit slightly under the radar.
Maybe that’s exactly where they want to be.
The Brewers don’t need to win the headlines in August. They need to be playing their best baseball when October arrives.
And with Milwaukee already sitting at 74 wins, the rest of the National League has a serious problem on its hands.
The question now isn’t whether the Brewers are good.
It’s whether they’re good enough to win it all.
Because if Milwaukee keeps playing like this, ignoring them could become a very expensive mistake come playoff time.
