Arsenal have reportedly opened talks over a move for Morocco sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi, with the teenage midfielder’s stunning World Cup display against Brazil sending his stock soaring across Europe.
The 18-year-old was one of Morocco’s standout performers in their 1-1 draw with Brazil, producing a composed and mature display in midfield that caught the attention of fans, pundits, and Europe’s biggest clubs. His performance has quickly turned him into one of the hottest names of the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Arsenal have already begun discussions with Bouaddi’s representatives as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his midfield for the new season. While no formal offer has yet been made to Lille, the French club are believed to value the teenager at around £60 million, and they are under no pressure to sell after tying him down to a long-term contract.
The Gunners won’t have a clear path, however. Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich are all monitoring the Moroccan international, setting the stage for what could become one of the summer’s biggest transfer battles.
If Bouaddi continues to impress at the World Cup, his value could climb even higher. Arsenal have moved early, but whether they can beat Europe’s elite to one of football’s brightest young stars remains to be seen.
