Randy Arozarena is on one of those runs where you almost have to stop and ask: what exactly is this guy doing?
The Seattle Mariners outfielder has been on fire, and now he’s officially written his name into one of the most exclusive clubs in Major League Baseball.
Arozarena hit a leadoff home run Sunday against the Chicago Cubs, giving him 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases for the season.
That means he’s now put together six straight 20-20 seasons.
And that’s not just impressive.
That’s baseball history.
He’s Joining Some Serious Company
Only five players in MLB history have now put together at least six consecutive seasons with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases:
- Barry Bonds — 9
- Bobby Bonds — 7
- Bobby Abreu — 7
- Willie Mays — 6
- Randy Arozarena — 6
That’s some pretty ridiculous company.
Arozarena has basically made power and speed look routine.
And he’s doing it while playing in his sixth full season with Seattle.
But His Weekend Was Even Wilder 👀
The historic milestone was only part of the story.
On Saturday, Arozarena was the hero in Seattle’s 5–4 comeback win over Chicago.
He hit two home runs, including a two-run walk-off blast in the ninth inning.
But he wasn’t finished.
The next day, he stepped to the plate to lead off the game and promptly sent another ball over the fence.
That’s back-to-back games with a home run — and the third homer came just one day after his walk-off heroics.
Unfortunately for Arozarena, the Mariners couldn’t complete another comeback.
Chicago exploded for 19 runs, including grand slams from Ian Happ and Pedro Ramírez, and Seattle eventually lost 19–2.
Still, Arozarena had already made his mark.
Six Straight 20-20 Seasons Is No Accident
The impressive part about this milestone isn’t just the numbers.
Doing it once is difficult.
Doing it year after year is where things get crazy.
Arozarena has consistently been one of baseball’s more dangerous players because he can hurt a team in multiple ways.
If you pitch carefully, he can get on base.
If you give him something to hit, he can put it in the seats.
And if he’s on first?
You better keep an eye on him.

At 31 years old, Arozarena still has plenty of baseball ahead of him.
And considering the way he’s been swinging the bat lately, it wouldn’t be surprising if he adds even more to the numbers before the season ends.
The Mariners may have lost badly Sunday, but Arozarena walked away with something much bigger.
