Lewis Dunk has signed a five year contract with Brighton and Hove Albion accompany speculation associating him with Chelsea.
The defender was reportedly a target of Frank Lampard, who is eager to strengthen his defence .
There were rumours that Chelsea was prepared to offer £40million for the 28-year-old.
Dunk has ended talk on his future by concur a deal that will keep him in the club until 2025.
Head coach Graham Potter told the club’s website: “We’re absolutely delighted that Lewis has made this long-term commitment to the club. It’s fantastic news for the club, the supporters, the team and myself.”
“Since I came to the club he’s been a joy to work with and he’s a top player. We are very lucky to have him.
“I think his role as captain is one he’s grown into and one he will do better and better for the next few years.”
