Tunisia’s FIFA World Cup campaign took another painful turn after a crushing 4-0 defeat to Japan, making them the first African nation ever to concede at least four goals in each of their opening two World Cup matches.
After suffering a heavy 5-1 loss to Sweden in their tournament opener, Tunisia once again struggled defensively as Japan carved them apart with a clinical attacking display. The back-to-back heavy defeats leave Tunisia rooted to the bottom of Group F with an alarming nine goals conceded in just two matches.
With one group game remaining against the Netherlands, Tunisia now faces the daunting task of restoring pride while trying to avoid an even more disappointing end to a campaign that has rewritten the record books for all the wrong reasons.
