Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in their opening FIFA World Cup 2026 match in Toronto. The result earned Canada a historic first-ever World Cup point on home soil after a hard-fought contest.
Bosnia took the lead in the 21st minute when Jovo Lukic headed home from a corner kick, silencing the home crowd. Canada responded with relentless pressure but struggled to convert their chances for much of the match.
The breakthrough finally came in the 78th minute when substitute Cyle Larin scored shortly after coming off the bench, bringing Canada level and igniting celebrations among the home supporters.
